A Service of Christian Unity

The Rhode Island State Council of Churches will be holding a Service of Christian Unity on Jan. 29th at 4:00 PM at the new Saint Mary and Saint Mena Coptic Orthodox Church near the intersection of Scituate Avenue and 7 Mile Rd just east of the Scituate Reservoir(see map). The church is a new home for the Coptic Orthodox congregation of Rhode island and, while not yet completely finished, is a truly remarkable edifice.

The service will be celebrated by ministers and priest from a variety of denominations and churches. Choirs from Saint Mary and Saint Mena and St. Michael's Orthodox Church of Woonsocket will participate. The portion of donations received at the service will be used to support the Egypt Relief Fund of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of North America, a fund assisting victims of the recent persecutions of Copts in Egypt.

Walk cheerfully over the earth answering that of God in every person.
